Meet Jennifer Alvey-Dzierzynski MS, RD, LDN
registered dietitian nutritionist
Welcome to The NutraEvolution! As a passionate dietitian specializing in integrative and functional nutrition, I’m dedicated to personalized health solutions, through integrative and functional nutrition. My approach goes beyond traditional “one-size-fits-all” models, engaging in a customized strategy that aligns with your unique needs.
My personal experience with disordered eating and immune challenges, unresolved by conventional medicine, emphasized the power of tailored nutrition. This revelation ignited my passion for utilizing food as medicine, guiding my mission to demystify nutrition and support those still seeking answers to their health puzzles.
My hope is to empower you with clear, effective strategies for lifelong health, integrating comprehensive functional assessments like lab tests and DNA analysis with a deep dive into your health history. This holistic method ensures we pinpoint and enhance your well-being correctly.
My undergraduate education was at Kansas State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in both Dietetics and Human Nutrition, followed by an intensive internship at Priority Nutrition Care. I further improved my skills with a graduate program in human nutrition at the University of Alabama, focusing on clinical care.
Together, let’s embark on a journey to discover your path to optimal health, tailored just for you!
East Meets West-Nutrition that Works
My dietitian education was strongly rooted in evidence-based research and science backed but there is so much more to my experience in healthcare. My journey includes extensive education and training in alternative medicine and complementary techniques. I believe that using both western and eastern medicine together are far more efficient at creating sustainable lifelong changes.
I studied and practiced both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), both of which use food and herbs as the foundation for their philosophies. Integrating Ayurvedic and TCM into western medicine has shown proven results and fills in some gaps where allopathic medicine runs short.
I am certified and have been practicing Reiki for 24 years. Reiki is a form of Japanese energy work that focuses on both the emotional and psychological factors related to eating as well as supporting digestive health. Reiki can aid in emotional healing, helping to address emotional eating, food cravings, and other psychological aspects related to eating habits. And can support healthier relationships with food.
Building on my journey, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the rich cultures and medical practices of both Kanur, India and Pokhara, Nepal. Here, I collaborated closely with skilled Ayurvedic practitioners and medical doctors. These experiences were eye-opening, demonstrating the remarkable outcomes that can be achieved through a balance of holistic, integrative, and functional medicine.
In these vital communities, I delved into the ancient wisdom of using herbs, and food as medicine. This deepened my understanding and appreciation of the power of natural healing modalities, further shaping my approach to nutrition and wellness. These insights are now an integral part of my practice, allowing me to bring a blend of traditional wisdom and modern science to your health journey.
